Remindo: Enhancing Communication

Remindo.com which belongs to the Orios group was founded by Rehan yar Khan (CEO, Flora2000.com). Rehan who sits on the board for Druvaa another VC backed IT product firm, is also the founder of the Mumbai chapter of the Indian Angel Network. Ashok Kurien, the Co-founder for Remindo, has also founded Ambiance Advertising, Hanmer Partners Communications and Zee TV. He currently serves as Chairman Publicis India and Director Zee TV.

Remindo.com is a SaaS Intranet with a project collaboration flavor. Using Remindo.com, businesses can help their team and clients connect, communicate better and work efficiently. Remindo uses a freemium model for its pricing. It is currently free for up to 3 GB of storage for every company intranet. An enhanced and paid subscription based version will be released soon.

This is how it works:

If a user from companyX signs up, a free online intranet is automatically created for companyX. He then invites his team and clients to the intranet. Now once these invitees sign up, they are automatically added to the same intranet. They get a shared project calendar, an IM (for chatting) and a Facebook-like share area for communication and sharing information.

Companies can also brand their intranet with their logos and even get a customized web address like https://intranet.mycompany.com. There is no limit on the number of users, projects or clients. Clients can only see activities that they are authorized for. On Remindo, users can upload and share files of up to 200 MB each with their clients and team. Every intranet gets 3 GB of free storage and VeriSign SSL security (used by 94 percent of Fortune 500 companies)

Remindo takes care of three key problems for businesses:

1. Senior managers are often not able to gauge the progress of projects. Teams often don't know what else is happening in their company and silos are created. Remindo helps break this mould and increases visibility of work and project progress by bringing them in a loop

2. Email was never designed as a project management tool but that's how it is being used and abused. Managing projects through email invariably leads to multiple threads that break down; files that get lost and important people that are not copied in. Remindo consolidates all project related communication and archives them systematically in a way that managers and teams find useful. Remindo has taken cues from Facebook and Twitter to learn how people really like to interact.
